Teaching Spanish To A Friend
Thank you for coming to my website. My name is Jose Estrada and I have been teaching Spanish to teens, children, and adults in a variety of environments both public and private since 2010. I gravitated to the world of teaching Spanish more or less by accident. Although, I have always wanted to be in a profession that helps people, I never would have imagined having a conversation with one of my best friends, G.P. Cole, would lead me here.
Several years ago, Cole and I were having a conversation about learning another language. The conversation took a turn and he mentioned how he had always wanted to learn Spanish. Rather than recommend my friend take Spanish classes at a local college or through private tutor, I decided to teach him.
Teaching my best friend Spanish became one of the best decisions of my life. Not only were my best friend and I spending more time together, but I was helping someone learn an invaluable skill. After helping my friend, I decided to explore helping other people by joining local Meetup groups that were interested in learning Spanish. Slowly but surely, I became more involved with Meetup to the point I became the organizer of different groups, including “El Grupo Epico” (link this word to the site: https://www.meetup.com/epicos/), with currently more than 1,300 members.
People really enjoyed the immersive classes I was providing because they were different from any other Spanish class they had attended before. After hosting several immersive and practical Spanish classes, people began requesting private lessons and additional classes which was the reason I created Talk To Me In Spanish.
Talk To Me In Spanish is unique to every other language school or language tutor because the focus is the community we build. By immersing people in Latin culture and then allowing them to practice Spanish in a safe, supportive environment, the language develops easier and faster. When you are part of a community, you feel more accepted and therefore more willing to take a risk practicing another language. At Talk to Me In Spanish it’s all about the community reaching a goal together.
